I'm Hilary; a Massachusetts native who now feels much more at home in New Hampshire. I've always valued the simple things in life like sunsets, live music, campfires, fireworks, and spending time out in nature -- but it wasn't until I had a major burnout experience that I gained deep perspective on what's actually important in life.
As often as possible these days I can be found scampering up a trail with my pup, lazily paddling my kayak around a quiet pond, camping along my favorite inlet on Mount Desert Island, or trying new adventures like XC skiing and snowmobiling.
I've been in-and-out of the corporate world, but have always been interested in home design, house flipping, and interior decorating. I started my interior design portfolio inadvertently when I quit my corporate job back in 2013, bought a café, and oversaw the rebranding, design, and renovations of what became Blue Coast Coffee.
Under my ownership the café became the #1 rated restaurant on Yelp & TripAdvisor out of 85 restaurants in town, and sales doubled by Year 2. However interestingly, my big 'ah ha' moment was the realization that the pre-opening phase (the business planning, concept development, design of the interior, creation of the menu, marketing launch, etc...) was when I'd been most thrilled to jump out of bed in the morning.
I eventually sold my café, spent a month in Maui, moved to New Hampshire, and
have now renovated, furnished + decorated 2 of my own short-term rental properties in addition to working with a variety of awesome clients on projects ranging from bathroom remodels to Airbnb consults to office designs and branding initiatives.
WildeWoods Design is the culmination of my career learnings, life experience, passions and skillset -- and I'm super excited about the opportunity to help you create spaces that you not only love the looks of, but also actually work for you.
