Hilary is the owner, designer, and face of WildeWoods Design; she splits her professional time between WildeWoods Design client projects and running her own Airbnb rentals.  She spent 9 years in the corporate world in Product Management, Brand Management & Product Marketing, once owned a coffee shop, and has designed/launched 6 Airbnbs including 3 which she personally renovated and managed.

Hilary is a bit of a homebody; who loves spending time out in nature, gardening, baking, reading, and anything crafty.   She also loves camping & hiking -- and has a particular obsession with dreamy cabins, cozy nooks, & themed vacation homes.

She's somewhat of a regular at Acadia National Park.

Nick is an avid fisherman who loves spending his time out on his boat or kayak.  His other passions include American history and antiques, wildlife, his family, and bassett hounds... and he also enjoys following football, hockey, and racing.

Nick worked in construction for over 15 years, with experience ranging from residential remodeling, to building concrete bridges & buildings.  Nick now works full-time for a lumber/building-supply company and helps with WildeWoods projects on the side.

Nick and Hilary are both nature & animal lovers; spending much of our free time out in the woods, on the water, or stationed in our sunroom overlooking our back woods during winter months... birdwatching.  We love to explore Maine and New Hampshire; in particular finding the best off-the-beaten path local restaurants & breweries, fishing holes, views, and pizza slices.  And we both share an obsession with antiques + thrifting; frequenting antique shops, flea markets, and yard sales.

In 2023 we bought 16 acres of land in western Maine and built a home on it where we live with our 2 dogs -- Penny (mix) and Bell (basset hound). In 2024 we got married in our front yard.

Through WildeWoods, we enjoy taking on challenging & creative projects and thrive on the variety of work that each day brings.

The Backstory

Hilary began her career in the corporate world; spending 5 years in Product Management and Merchandising roles for a national retail chain.  She enjoyed projects ranging from seasonal promotional displays, to packaging redesigns, to ecommerce product merchandising, to advising on marketing content and strategy for print materials, emails, and sales tools.

When she was 26, Hilary left her job and started a coffee shop.  She bought a struggling cafe -- renovating, rebranding, and relaunching her new business as Blue Coast Coffee.  She loved the renovation project, and enjoyed the creative aspects of running the shop including email marketing, weekly specials, seasonal decorating & menu changes.  Under Hilary's ownership, the cafe grew sales by 50% in year 1 and quickly became the #1 rated restaurant on both Yelp & TripAdvisor out of 85 food establishments in town.  She sold her shop after 4 years, and began to pursue real estate investing.

Having grown up in Massachusetts, Hilary would regularly head north to vacation spots in Maine and New Hampshire with her friends throughout her 20's.  She always noticed and grumbled about the common issues she'd experience while staying in vacation rentals
