Project Gallery: The WildeWoods Cabin, Grafton NH
Our namesake cabin, co-owned with Hilary's mom to provide her with extra income in retirement, is a great example of transforming a basic cabin with fully cosmetic renovations, furnishings, and decor into a destination Airbnb rental that guests seek out and drive hours to for weekend getaways, special occasions, and solo retreats.
Using design as our marketing strategy -- we added some key design features including a gas fireplace for ambiance, a decorative collage wall in the living room, a cedar ceiling + patterned peel-and-stick floor tiles in the bathroom, and a beadboard backsplash in the kitchen.
Mixing great pieces of furniture found second-hand from FB marketplace and decor found at thrift stores, with some selections from Amazon and Wayfair, we furnished and decorated the cabin creatively and cost-consciously.
In years 2-3 we tackled the exterior, making improvements to the curb appeal and investing in a hardy perennial garden offering guests an appealing outdoor space to spend time in.
