Project Gallery: The New Hampshire Getaway, New Durham, NH

The New Hampshire Getaway, a vacation rental in the New Hampshire Lakes Region (not far from downtown Wolfeboro NH) was Hilary's first Airbnb investment property.  Searching within a tight budget; Hilary bought this very bland (and dated) chalet-style home in early 2019.

With the design vision of creating a lakes + mountains themed home blending rustic and modern elements -- every surface was scrubbed clean and painted, floor replaced, and budget-friendly updates were made in the kitchen and bathroom including new countertops and decorative wall coverings.  Using a discounted load of rough sawn lumber; Hilary installed wood accent walls in the living room to add a touch of warmth and character to an otherwise all-drywall home.

Leveraging novelty wall treatments like a 'wood slice' fireplace wall, a collection of antique fishing rods and an old boat dashboard as wall art, and upgrades like recycled quartz countertops and new mudroom/entryway area; the chalet quickly became a guest-favorite.
