Project Gallery: Coffee Shop Remodel
Before Hilary's pivot to real estate investing and to starting her business WildeWoods Design, she set her sights on starting a coffee shop. Unqualified for a small business loan at the time and unable to afford a full-scale new construction build-out with a commercial kitchen; Hilary got creative and found a struggling cafe for sale with good bones. After procuring personal loans, she left her corporate job and purchased a 50's theme sandwich shop -- immediately beginning to put her plans in motion to renovate the tired, dingy cafe.
Hilary designed her future coffee shop in a bright, airy, coastal-inspired concept; naming it Blue Coast Coffee. She excitedly dove into the start-up process and remodeling phase, having closed the cafe down for its transformation.
Her contractors demo'd and rebuilt the service counter, and installed new flooring & lighting throughout. Hilary and her family painted, installed wall treatments, and decorated the shop for its grand opening 2 months later.
Although this project was undertaken through the lens of small business ownership (12+ years ago) and isn't overly impressive from our present-day design standards -- its worth featuring, as it was when Hilary discovered her passion for the creative work and the project management surrounding design + remodeling projects.
